Research Purchase Policy

Second Wind Research is committed to supplying products solely for legitimate laboratory, analytical, educational, and scientific research purposes. This Research Purchase and Qualification Policy explains who may purchase products from our website, the information purchasers must provide, and the conditions that apply to every purchase.
By creating an account, submitting an order, or purchasing any product from Second Wind Research, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy.
1. Who May Purchase
Purchasers must:
- Be at least 21 years of age;
- Be legally authorized to purchase, receive, possess, handle, store, and use the products ordered;
- Have the appropriate knowledge, facilities, equipment, and training to safely handle research materials;
- Purchase products solely for lawful laboratory, analytical, educational, or scientific research purposes; and
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Second Wind Research does not sell products for personal, household, medical, therapeutic, diagnostic, veterinary, recreational, or consumer use.
2. Required Purchaser Information
To evaluate purchaser eligibility and intended use, Second Wind Research may require customers to provide information including:
- Full legal name;
- Billing and shipping information;
- Email address and telephone number;
- Research field or area of study;
- University, laboratory, business, institution, or research organization;
- Independent researcher status, if applicable;
- A description of the intended research purpose;
- Confirmation that the products will not be used or administered to humans or animals; and
- Any other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the legitimacy, safety, or legality of the proposed purchase.
All information provided must be complete, accurate, current, and truthful.
Customers should not submit medical records, diagnoses, prescription information, patient information, or other personal health information when describing their research.
3. Research-Use-Only Restrictions
All products sold by Second Wind Research are intended solely for laboratory, analytical, educational, and scientific research.
Products are not intended for:
- Human consumption;
- Human administration;
- Animal consumption or administration;
- Veterinary use;
- Medical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use;
- The prevention, diagnosis, treatment, mitigation, or cure of any disease or medical condition;
- Compounding or preparation for personal use;
- Cosmetic use;
- Recreational use;
- Bodybuilding, weight-loss, anti-aging, recovery, or performance-enhancement purposes; or
- Any other consumer or household use.
Purchasers may not resell, transfer, distribute, administer, or provide products to any person or animal for a prohibited purpose.
4. No Human or Animal Administration
Under no circumstances may products purchased from Second Wind Research be ingested, injected, inhaled, applied, implanted, administered, or otherwise introduced into the body of any human or animal.
Purchasers are solely responsible for ensuring that all products are handled, stored, used, and disposed of in accordance with appropriate laboratory procedures and all applicable laws and safety requirements.
5. Order Review and Verification
Second Wind Research reserves the right to review, hold, delay, cancel, or reject any order before shipment.
An order may be placed on hold while we verify:
- Purchaser identity;
- Institutional or organizational affiliation;
- Intended research purpose;
- Shipping or billing information;
- Legal eligibility to purchase;
- Compliance with this Policy; or
- Any other information relevant to the order.
Submission of an order does not guarantee acceptance or shipment.
6. Additional Documentation
Second Wind Research may request additional documentation before approving or fulfilling an order. Requested documentation may include:
- Government-issued identification;
- Business or institutional information;
- Professional credentials;
- Laboratory or research-facility information;
- Evidence of affiliation with a university, laboratory, company, or research organization;
- A written description of the research protocol or intended application;
- Confirmation of legal authority to purchase or possess the product; or
- Additional purchaser certifications.
Failure or refusal to provide requested documentation may result in the order being held, rejected, or canceled.
7. Prohibited or Suspicious Responses
Orders may be rejected or canceled when purchaser information is incomplete, inconsistent, misleading, suspicious, or indicative of consumer use.
Examples of prohibited or concerning intended-use statements include references to:
- Personal use;
- Self-experimentation;
- Human or animal administration;
- Injection, ingestion, or dosing;
- Weight loss;
- Bodybuilding or muscle growth;
- Healing, injury recovery, or pain relief;
- Anti-aging;
- Cosmetic use;
- Treatment of a medical condition;
- Use on a pet, livestock animal, or other animal; or
- Reconstitution or preparation for administration.
Second Wind Research is not obligated to provide a purchaser with an opportunity to revise or replace a prohibited intended-use response.
8. False or Misleading Information
Providing false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information is strictly prohibited.
If Second Wind Research determines or reasonably suspects that a purchaser has provided false information or intends to use a product for a prohibited purpose, we may:
- Cancel or reject the order;
- Refuse future orders;
- Suspend or terminate the customer’s account;
- Withhold shipment;
- Issue a refund when appropriate;
- Request additional documentation;
- Report suspected fraud or unlawful activity to the appropriate payment processor, financial institution, carrier, regulatory authority, or law-enforcement agency; and
- Take any other action reasonably necessary to protect the company, the public, or our service providers.
9. Continuing Duty to Provide Accurate Information
Purchasers must promptly update their account or contact Second Wind Research if any qualification information changes.
Approval of one order does not guarantee approval of future orders. Second Wind Research may reevaluate purchaser eligibility and intended use at any time.
10. Right to Refuse Service
Second Wind Research reserves the right to refuse service, restrict purchasing privileges, impose order limits, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts when we believe a purchase may violate this Policy, our Terms and Conditions, applicable law, payment-processor requirements, carrier requirements, or public-safety considerations.
11. Purchaser Certification
By placing an order, the purchaser certifies that:
- The purchaser is at least 21 years old;
- All information provided is complete, accurate, and truthful;
- The products are being purchased solely for lawful laboratory, analytical, educational, or scientific research;
- The products will not be used or administered to humans or animals;
- The purchaser has the appropriate knowledge, facilities, equipment, and authorization to handle the products;
- The purchaser will comply with all applicable laws and regulations; and
- The purchaser accepts full responsibility for the lawful handling, storage, use, and disposal of the products.
12. Relationship to Other Policies
This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of the Second Wind Research Terms and Conditions.
If there is a conflict between this Policy and the Terms and Conditions, the provision that imposes the stricter research-use or purchaser-qualification requirement will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
